TDC Class Schedule
|The Dance Company offers classes in a variety of levels for the following disciplines:
|TDC Class Descriptions
BALLET: Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms and vital in
becoming a technically trained dancer. Proper body placement and
alignment are emphasized. Flexibility, balance, coordination, strength,
and technique are achieved through barre and center floor work. Basic
ballet terminology is introduced in our novice classes and continued at
a higher level throughout our most advanced classes. Advanced level
ballet classes include pointe technique in the curriculum. Our ballet
faculty utilizes the Vaganova method with western influences.
MODERN: Modern dance blends technique with creativity and expressiveness and is a key component to a dancer’s versatility. Our Modern classes incorporate Graham, Humphrey, Limon and Cunningham techniques. Classes are done barefoot and explore a variety of movements and techniques throughout warm-up and combinations from beginning to advanced students.
JAZZ: Jazz is an exciting and ever-evolving dance form that explores and encourages individual expression and the development of personal style. Jazz can be strong and powerful or expressive and lyrical. Classes include basic to advanced jazz dance technique, terminology and movement quality with an emphasis on precise execution of choreography.
TAP: Tap is an important component of traditional and contemporary dance that is often incorporated into musical theatre and other genres of dance. Students will learn rhythmic variations and performance skills through a series of tap combinations. Novice classes will focus on basic rhythms and terminology while advanced classes will add more difficult variations to the choreography.
MUSICAL THEATRE: Musical theatre dance is a fun and educational way to bring performance technique to dancers of all ages. Students enrolled in musical theatre will learn dance steps combined with theatrical performance and characterization. Dancers will learn a range of choreography, some of which is straight from the Broadway stage! Whether it is for the beginner or the seasoned dancer, musical theatre dance is a great way to become an even more versatile dancer.
HIP-HOP: Our beginning hip-hop class offers young students the opportunity to have fun and move to upbeat music in an uplifting, positive environment. Students will learn hip- hop skills through choreography and different rhythmic styles. Students will learn a variety of hip-hop combinations geared to improve their versatility as dancers as well as their stamina.
LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY: Our lyrical/contemporary classes are geared for intermediate and advanced dancers who want to broaden their technique and performance skills. This class utilizes fluid movements and combinations with emotional motivation. Students will experiment with musicality, improvisation, and personal expression while learning the fundamentals of lyrical and contemporary movements.
ACROBATICS: This program is centered on fundamental acrobatic technique to increase flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, timing, body awareness, self-discipline, and confidence. Classes focus on proper hand placement and body alignment, with emphasis on the muscles and flexibility required to perform proper technique.

Please arrive 15min prior to audition time wearing jazz attire. Please fill out audition form upon arrival and pay the $25 audition fee (this will be applied to your $75 costume rental fee to be in the production; $50 will be due at first rehearsal if accepted.)

Per Class Tuition
Tuition is based on number of hours taken per week by student or family.
The following amounts are per month (August-May).
* 45 min/week – $45
* 1 hour/week – $60
* 1.5 hours/week – $85
* 2 hours/week – $105
* 2.5 hours/week – $120
* 3 hours/week – $130
* 3.5 hours/week – $145
* 4 hours/week – $155
* 4.5 hours/week – $170
* 5 hours/week – $180
* 5.5 hours/week – $195
* 6 hours/week – $210
* 6.5 hours/week – $220
* 7 hours/week – $230
* 7.5 hours/week – $240

Unlimited Classes Tuition
Students or families enrolling in 9 or more hours per week pay a flat tuition for unlimited classes.

The following fees are paid once per season (year). Recital fees help to cover expenses for the Spring performance.
BY AUGUST 14 the Registration Fee is: $25 per student or $45 per family; otherwise
AFTER AUGUST 14 the Registration Fee is: $50 per student or $75 Per family.
Recital fee – $25 per family due by May 1, 2018
Costume fee – $70 per class : 1st class costume fee due by October 1,2017 2nd class costume fee (if applicable) due November 1, 2017 and Final costume balance due by December 1, 2017.
Payment is due the first week of each month, August – May. There is a $20 late charge for all payments received after the 10th day of the month. Returned checks are subject to a $30 charge. Registration fees, recital fees and costume fees are non-refundable. Monthly fees remain the same despite fewer classes (holidays) or more classes (5-week months). Refunds are issued in the form of TDC Credit. No cash refunds are provided.
It is our desire to provide an equitable opportunity for students to dance despite circumstances, financial hardship or a change in personal situations. The procedure for scholarships is outlined below:
~At registration or at any time upon a change of circumstances, a request for a scholarship or tuition assistance can be requested.
~As confidentiality is of prime importance, all applications will be viewed solely by the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
~If additional information is needed, the Executive Director and Board of Directors may request an interview/meeting.
~Everyone is eligible for potential tuition assistance, regardless of income level. A simple budget worksheet and interview will provide the Director/Board with information that will deem eligibility for tuition assistance and scholarship.
